Tymal Mills Surpasses Jasprit Bumrah in Unique T20 Record

Tymal Mills is one of England’s most feared left-arm pacers in T20 cricket, known for his raw pace, deceptive slower balls, and skill at the death. His career has been shaped by a unique journey — originally starting in red-ball cricket, he shifted focus entirely to the shorter formats after being diagnosed with a congenital back condition.

Left-arm fast bowler Tymal Mills has etched his name into the T20 history books by overtaking Jasprit Bumrah in a unique milestone.

In The Hundred 2025 match on August 13 against Northern Superchargers, Mills returned figures of 2/38, dismissing Zak Crawley and Harry Brook. These two wickets took his tally of T20 wickets in England to 211, which is one more than Bumrah’s 210 wickets in India.

With this, Mills now stands third on the all-time list for most T20 wickets in a single country:

  • Danny Briggs – 286 wickets (England)

  • Samit Patel – 255 wickets (England)

  • Tymal Mills – 211 wickets (England)

  • Jasprit Bumrah – 210 wickets (India)

However, the overall record is still held by India’s spin twins:

  • Yuzvendra Chahal – 289 wickets (India)

  • Piyush Chawla – 289 wickets (India)

Despite Mills’ personal achievement, the match ended in heartbreak for Southern Brave. In a thrilling finish, Northern Superchargers’ Graham Clark smashed a six off the final ball of the match, handing Brave their first defeat of the season.
