Asia Cup 2025 : The All India Men’s Senior Selection Committee was supposed to unveil team India squad for the upcoming Asia Cup at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, August 19. The announcement, which will happen at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Headquarters in Mumbai, has apparently been postponed until further notice owing to a flight delay, and will not go as planned now.
The flight delay has possibly caused the delayed arrival of chief selector Ajit Agarkar at the meeting venue, which has been further damped by the incessant rains in the city. Several areas of Mumbai have been set on red alert by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), which has also allowed slow and less traffic movement, causing troubles to the public.
Squad Announcement Delayed Further Due to Flight and Weather Issues
Reports confirm that heavy rains and flight delays are the main reasons for the postponement of India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad announcement. Senior journalist Amol Karhadkar shared the update via his official social media handle.
According to the latest visuals on JioHotstar, chief selector Ajit Agarkar arrived at the BCCI Headquarters around 2 PM. Following his arrival, discussions with skipper Suryakumar Yadav are expected to take some time. Consequently, the final squad announcement is now likely around 3 PM, resulting in a delay of approximately 90 minutes from the originally scheduled 1:30 PM.
