Nitish Kumar Reddy has been a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise since IPL 2023. The star all-rounder has played 28 matches for the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) champions and scored 485 runs and picked up five wickets. After performing impressively in IPL 2024.

Over the past week, there have been reports of Reddy not being too happy with his role at the Pat Cummins-led franchise. The same reports have suggested that he wants to part ways with SRH and join a new franchise ahead of IPL 2026.
“I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity. My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I’ll always stand by this team,” Reddy tweeted.

Nitish was first bought by SRH in IPL 2023 for just INR 20 lakhs. After showing promise, he was retained for 2024, where he finally got regular chances and made a strong impact. He played key innings at No. 4 and also took important wickets, helping his team win matches.
But in IPL 2025, things didn’t go as planned. His batting position kept changing, and his performance dropped. Both his batting average and strike rate went down significantly, by 10.92 and 33.97, respectively.
Despite his dip in form last season, Reddy is still a valuable player. He’s a rare all-rounder who can bowl fast and hit big. If he were to enter the IPL 2026 auction, many teams would be eager to sign him.
